native of Charlton, Worcester County, Massachusetts. Of English origin,
but for many generations residents of the Bay State. wife and mother of
Moses was Clarissa Clemens; though of the same name as her husband
was of no known kindred. In spring of 1839 Simeon moved to western
New York. In the fall of 1844 family went to Wisconsin territory left
Buffalo N.Y. on the steamer Illinois, commanded by captain Blake and
landed at Milwaukee on November 9, 1844. went directly to Oconomowoc.
bought 80 acres in section 4 where he lived until he died in September
