email 1 Aug 2003. I am Paul Merritt Bassett (28/5/1935), a great grandson of Christian Wyss (26/9/1861-24/11/1934), and grandson of Henry W. Wiess (he changed the spelling and added the W for business reasons) (1/2/1887-2/12/1954). Christian Wyss' "unknown spouse" was Liddie Kolb (1856-1917). They are buried in the cemetery of the Longenecker Mennonite Church, Holmes County, Ohio. Liddie was a Mennonite; Christian, a Presbyterian. The elders of the Longenecker Mennonite Church had to agree that Christian was indeed a Christian and could be buried with his wife. Henry W Wiess was born in or near Winesburg or Wilmot in Holmes County, and d. in Columbus, Ohio.
